“On the way to reclaiming my voice, I discovered my body was an instrument to connect to my self-esteem.”

We were born with a free and natural voice.

Let's find it once again.

"The essential attributes for a leader's voice are range, variety, beauty, clarity, power and volume, but sensitivity is the quality that will validate all the others, for they are dull attributes unless they are reflecting inner energy."

Kristin Linklater, Freeing the Natural Voice

Why Amplify?

Have you ever diminished your voice or felt like your voice wasn’t expressing authentically who you are?

Early on in my career, I lost my voice and it wasn’t structural. I discovered it was from my “exquisite” cover up. In the name of being nice? Polite? To not hurt feelings? To signal I am not a threat to you? To be liked?

My voice retracted, my tongue is drawn tightly back into my throat and TMJ seized my jaw. I was so intent to be good, to get it right, to find approval, to gain attention that I lose all spontaneity.

I sought a remedy from a preeminent voice doctor in NYC who prescribed voice training for me. It is very physical instruction. I remove tension. I finally learn to breathe. In therapy, I release me from having to be perfect.

From this discovery, I engaged in extensive performance, voice and improvisation training to resolve my vocal issues. I share this with you.

In this course, we practice, play and experiment to open our voices up in exercises and applications. We apply it to your communication. It is possible to strengthen your voice to offer you and others a powerful vocal presence.

Let’s find our authentic voice, full presence, free expression and spontaneity.

Nothing is more beautiful and satisfying than to witness ourselves find and live our true potential – being self-generating, self-cultivating and self-empowering.

Hi there!

My name is Martha and I’m a communication coach based in New York City. Over my 20+ years coaching, I’ve found that I enjoy supporting people to get their messages and their voice heard – and acted upon. This way, they can make a contribution and enjoy their work with great comfort and ease.

Our work is to build trust in our understanding and to create confidence in our listener’s knowledge so that they will align and take right action. How we appeal to others and their values is crucial. It’s not transactional - it’s relational - relationships matter.

I offer coaching and courses that are well-suited to help leaders, emerging leaders, young professionals, students and women express themselves with a true and powerful presence aligned with their deepest values and desires.
